data-end=\"344\">of liability clauses<\/strong> are often used by airlines to limit or eliminate their obligation to compensate passengers in the event of a problem. These clauses usually appear in the <strong data-start=\"531\" data-end=\"568\">general conditions of carriage<\/strong> that you agree to when purchasing your ticket. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d0c31a2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d0c31a2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What the data-start=\"981\" data-end=\"1140\">The <strong data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1010\">Montreal Convention<\/strong> (for international flights), which limits but does not cancel the liability of airlines in the event of loss, delay or damage.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1360\">These texts <strong data-start=\"1153\" data-end=\"1225\">prevent any attempt to completely exclude the carrier&#8217;s liability<\/strong> for events under its control (delays, cancellations, overbookings, loss of or damage to luggage, etc.).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a8a6e26 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"a8a6e26\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">The limits of exclusion clauses\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d29f8b4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-start=\"1494\" data-end=\"1572\">Contradict applicable laws (such as the Montreal Convention or the APPR);<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1573\" data-end=\"1648\"><p data-start=\"1575\" data-end=\"1648\">Be used to avoid compensation for fault or negligence;<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1734\"><p data-start=\"1651\" data-end=\"1734\">Deprive a passenger of their right to the <strong data-start=\"1689\" data-end=\"1715\">minimum compensation<\/strong> provided for by law.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1905\">For example, in the event of a delay or cancellation attributable to the company, the company <strong data-start=\"1819\" data-end=\"1904\">cannot refuse financial compensation by invoking a contractual
